About the Company

Paving and Field services by Mineral Fabrications.Mineral Fabrication & Machine Co. is a family-owned general contractor, fabricator, and machine shop based in Keyser, West Virginia, in 1978.  Founded by John Hale, we’ve delivered custom metal fabrication, precision machining, and full design-build construction services to clients across the South, Midwest, and Northeast. From ground-up facility construction to custom machine parts and production runs, our 100+ skilled tradespeople bring the same hands-on craftsmanship to every job, no matter the size or scope.

What sets MinFab apart is simple: we do the work right, and we stand behind it. Ninety percent of our business comes from repeat customers — companies who trust us to show up, solve problems, and deliver quality that lasts. That reputation has earned us long-term partnerships with organizations like American Woodmark, U.S. Silica, Graymont, Greer Industries, Dominion Energy, and the West Virginia Division of Highways, spanning industries from power and energy to food processing, paper mills, and chemical manufacturing.

Being rooted in rural West Virginia hasn’t limited our reach — it’s shaped how we work. Our central location lets us take on projects throughout the eastern United States while staying close enough to our clients to offer the responsiveness and personal service that big-city contractors can’t match. Whether you need a design-build partner for a new facility, a fabrication shop that can turn around custom parts fast, or a construction crew that treats your project like their own, Mineral Fabrication brings nearly five decades of experience to get it done right.

Our Story

Building under construction that was built by Min Fab.Mineral Fabrication & Machine Co. got its start in Keyser, West Virginia in 1978, Founded by John Hale out of a modest fabrication shop on Waxler Road, taking on local repair and fabrication work for the region’s mines, mills, and manufacturers. From day one, the goal was simple: do the work right, treat customers fairly, and let the quality of the work speak for itself.

That approach paid off. What began as a small, family-run operation grew steadily over the decades into a full-service general contractor and fabrication shop capable of taking on projects most companies our size couldn’t touch.

Today, Mineral Fabrication employs more than 100 people and takes on work throughout the South, Midwest, and Northeast — but we’ve never lost the small-shop values we started with. We’re still headquartered in Keyser, still family-owned, and still measure success the same way we did in 1978: by whether the customer calls us back for the next job. In fact, roughly 90% of our business today comes from repeat clients — companies and communities who’ve trusted us with one project and came back for the next ten. In an industry where family shops are increasingly bought up and absorbed into national chains, we’ve stayed independent for nearly 50 years — still locally owned, still headquartered in the same community we started in. Many of our employees have been with us for decades, and it’s not unusual to find fathers, sons, and even grandsons working side by side on the same crew, passing down the same standards of craftsmanship that built this company. That kind of continuity shows up in our work: our people know Mineral County, they know our customers, and many of them have literally grown up in this shop.

Mission & Values

Our Mission

At Mineral Fabrication & Machine Co., our mission is to build and fabricate with the kind of quality and integrity that earns a customer’s trust the first time — and keeps it for the next fifty years. We exist to give the communities and companies we serve a partner they never have to second-guess: one that shows up, does the job right, and stands behind the work long after the invoice is paid. Whether we’re pouring the foundation for a new facility or machining a single custom part, our mission doesn’t change — deliver work our name can stand on, and treat every customer the way we’d want to be treated ourselves.

Our Core Values

  • Craftsmanship — We take pride in the details other shops skip. From the first weld to the final walkthrough, we hold our own work to a higher standard than the spec requires, because a job done “well enough” isn’t the way we do business.

  • Integrity — We tell customers the truth, even when it’s not the easy answer. That means honest timelines, honest pricing, and owning it when something needs to be fixed — because our word is worth more than any single contract.

  • Family — We’re a family-owned company, and it shows in how we treat our people and our customers. Many of our crews include fathers, sons, and neighbors who’ve worked side by side for years, and that same loyalty extends to every client we serve.

  • Community — Mineral Fabrication was built in Mineral County, and we’ve never forgotten it. We hire locally, invest locally, and take the same care on a hometown job as we do on a project three states away.

  • Safety — Every person who steps onto one of our job sites or into our shop goes home the same way they came in. Safety isn’t a checklist for us — it’s the first thing we plan and the last thing we compromise on.

  • Reliability — Nearly 90% of our business comes from repeat customers, and that doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because when we say we’ll be there, we’re there — and when we say it’ll get done, it gets done.
